Description: Komandoo is also the local name for the island resort located in Lhaviyani atoll. The island is comparatively small with only 45 beach villas and measure just 100 meter in width and 500 meters in length. The whole island is surrounded by a white sandy beach with the villas built just a few meters from the water. The vegetation is tropical with a beautiful 40-year old coconut plantation as highlight. Komandoo is perfectly situated in a channel opening, which makes it very interesting for divers and snorkellers. You may see; Turtles, Mantas, Sharks or Rays. Sitting on the "Kandu Bar" terrace, You often see a school of dolphins playing as they pass by. Komandoo is an idyllic private island retreat, a haven of charm and elegance, only 100 meters wide and 500 meters long, with attractive sugar white sand banks on both ends. A beautiful turquoise lagoon all around the island and a magnificent house reef.
Komandoo is located at the top of the Lhaviyani Atoll, about 130 kilometers north of Male' International Airport. The transfer is a scenic 40 minute seaplane flight over the North Male' and Lhaviyani Atolls.
Rooms: Komandoo's Beach Villas are all very attractive. Individual spacious bungalows in the shape of a shell. Built in wood with well-designed furniture. Every Beach Villa has a large wooden terrace overlooking the beach with sun lounges. The deluxe bathroom, partly open-air, with walk in hot and cold desalinated water shower in a lovely tropical garden is equipped with a circular glass shower cubicle, WC, twin wash basins with mirror, hairdryer and 230 DC shaver point.
